We love the odd bit of cake for celebrations and this sourdough chocolate cake has become my go to. With an active starter it’s a fairly simple cake, quite rich (not too sweet) and lovely with a bit of cream.  Here is the recipe we use.

If you have an interest in baking, particularly wholefood backing I really recommend giving sourdough a go and exploring lots of different types of recipes. You can keep your starter active and happy by using it in recipes such as pancakes, cakes, muffins and more while you perfect your own bread loaf!
